We’re Singapore Citizens and we own an HDB flat. If we buy a S$1.5 million condo before selling, how much ABSD do we pay?
As a Singapore Citizen buying a second residential property, ABSD is 20% — on a S$1.5 million condo, that’s S$300,000, payable on top of Buyer’s Stamp Duty. If you sell your flat first, the condo counts as your only property and no ABSD applies; as a married couple, you may also be able to claim an ABSD refund if you sell the flat within six months of the new purchase.
